Support Opportunities

The leading reason people live, work and play in Canby is the quality of life that we have all come to enjoy. Everyone benefits when citizens become involved and feel empowered to make a direct difference in their own community.

Participants in Canby Livability sponsored projects consistently comment that it felt good to work with neighbors they had never met before and to be a part of making a difference where they live. Some say they hesitated to become involved in community concerns, because they didn't know where to begin and felt overwhelmed. Canby Livability is designed to bring citizens together and to create win/win strategies that ultimately improve the quality of life in our town.

Whether you were born and raised in Canby or you’re new to the neighborhood, if you’re committed to the livability of our community, then please consider our organization a resource.  Contact CLC

HOW TO BECOME INVOLVED:

Volunteer Opportunities: The Canby Livability Coalition has volunteer opportunities with several community projects. Projects range from one day commitments with our annual Livability Day Community Clean Up in June to more complex projects such as building a one of a kind Art Park in north Canby. Please contact us about an area of interest that you would like to become involved with.

Donate your Vehicle and Support CLC:

Automobile donations are a cinch with the Canby Livability Coalition. We'll take those unwanted automobiles and the proceeds will support the Canby Livability Coalition. Your automobile donation is important to our funding. Give us a hand by making a automobile donation.

Become a Community Partner: The Canby Livability Coalition is proud to be 100% dedicated to utilizing and supporting only Canby Area businesses and service providers. There are over 30 Canby based businesses that provide quality services for our organization or in-kind support for our established programs. If you're a Canby based business that is interested in ways to be a part of maintaining the quality of life in our community, please contact President Bob Tice. Another way to support Canby Livability is to do business with our community partners and compliment them for being a part of our various projects focused on the quality of life in our town. Let them know that you found them on our website!

Become An Advisor: Do you have an area of concern or interest related to quality of life issues in Canby that you would like leadership support with? Canby Livability is designed to combine resources, streamline volunteer efforts, identify funding strategies, and bring like minded people together. Bring your idea for an advisory position to one of Canby Livability’s monthly meetings. Our board of advisors will explore with you the current possibilities for your area of interest. The time commitment of an advisor is determined by how much time the individual wants to give to their area of interest. Most communicating is done by email. Advisors submit a brief monthly report on what is happening in their area of interest as well as any upcoming needs and then attend the monthly advisor meeting.

Attend a Monthly Meeting: Canby Livability meets the 2nd Thursday of every month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in the upstairs meeting room at Season's Grill located at 101 N Elm St, Canby, OR, 503-266-3805. Ordering dinner from the menu is optional. Advisor meetings often begin with a guest speaker or other presentation. Topics relate to new or upcoming community events, services, or introduce a livability minded local organization. Next, advisors give a brief overview of an event or project. This is followed by new business, with the meeting ending promptly 8:00 PM.

Find an Area of Interest: Not sure of what you'd like to do or maybe you’re new to the area? We invite you to meet with one of our advisors who will help you to navigate the different areas of livability in our community as well as the upcoming projects that might be of interest you. Our team of advisors can connect you with resources and community programs that will help you to identify what intrigues you the most. You might be surprised at how many interesting opportunities there are in our community. Discover how much of a difference you can make with even a brief commitment of time.

Make a Donation: Our organization believes that time, money, and energy are all assets. We have a wide range of support opportunities ranging from one time needs for skilled volunteers to our vehicle donation program. Citizens with unique talents, professional skills, or hobbies can be an enormous asset to our organization. Our many projects can always use the insight of artists, craftsmen, designers, coordinators, event planners, organizers, bi-lingual services, secretarial duties, equipment operators, technology professionals, and service providers. We're always interested in diversifying our support base and all levels of participation are encouraged.
