Support Opportunities
The biggest
reason that people live, work and play in Canby is
contributed to the quality of life that we have all come to
enjoy. Everyone benefits when citizens become involved and
feel empowered to make a difference in the direct community
that we live in.
After
assisting in a community project or working with an advisor,
we consistently hear comments from participants. Most people
say that it felt good to be a part of making a difference in
where we live or that they met someone new. Other supporters
have commented that the hesitated to become involved in
community concern because they didn't know where to begin
and they felt overwhelmed. Canby Livability is designed to
create win/win strategies that ultimately improve the
quality of life in our town.
Whether you
were born and raised in Canby or your new to the
neighborhood, if your committed to the livability of our
community, then consider our organization as a resource.

that you found them on our website!
Become An Advisor:
Do you have an area of concern
or interest related to quality of life issues that you would
like leadership support with? Canby Livability is designed
to combine resources, streamline volunteer efforts, identify
funding strategies, and to bring like minded people
together. Bring your idea for an advisory position to a
monthly meeting and the board of advisors can explore with
you the current possibilities for your area of interest. The
time commitment of an advisor is determined by the how much
the individual wants to give to their area of interest. Most
communications are done by email. Advisors submit a brief
monthly summary report to document what is happening with
their area of interest as well as any upcoming needs and
then attend the monthly advisor meeting.
Attend a Monthly Meeting:
Canby Livability meets the 2nd
Thursday of every month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in the
upstairs meeting room at Season's Grill located at 101 N Elm
St, Canby, OR, 503-266-3805. Ordering dinner from the menu
is optional. Most advisory meetings begin with a
guest speaker or other presentation. Topics relate to new or
upcoming community events, services, or introduce a like-minded local organization. Next, each advisor gives a brief
overview of their area of focus. This is followed by new
business, and with the meeting ending promptly 8:00 PM.
Find an Area of Interest:
Not sure of what you'd like to
do or maybe your new to the area? We invite you to meet with
one of our advisors who will help you to navigate the
different areas of livability in our community as well as
the upcoming projects that might be of interest you. Our
team of advisors can connect you with resources, and
community programs that will help you to identify what
intrigues you the most. You might be surprised at how many
interesting opportunities there are in our community.
